Living and working from anywhere is real freedom — until analog reality catches up with you. Whether you are a digital nomad on the road, an expat abroad, or a founder without a fixed residence: government letters, bank documents, and contracts still get delivered to a physical address. A virtual mailbox solves this. You rent a real street address in the country you need, staff there receive your mail, and you read everything in an app, whichever continent you happen to be on.
Why isn't mail forwarding enough?
Postal forwarding orders are time-limited, work poorly across borders, and assume you have a new fixed address in the first place. They were never designed for a life without a permanent residence. If you travel address-free or move your life abroad, the problems are concrete:
- Missed deadlines: government letters and tax documents arrive late — or never
- Depending on friends and family: having someone else forward your mail is unreliable, and other people reading your letters is a privacy problem of its own
- No serviceable address: for a website imprint, bank accounts, and contracts you need a real street address, not a PO box
Traditional office providers rarely help either: their contracts come with long terms and paperwork — the opposite of a flexible lifestyle.
How does a virtual mailbox work for nomads?
A virtual mailbox combines a physical address at a real location with digital mail management. You rent a legal street address, and everything else happens in one app:
- Global choice of locations: addresses in Germany (Berlin, for example), the USA, the UK, Austria, Spain, Switzerland, and more — you decide where your postal home base is
- Real-time digitization: when mail arrives, you get a push notification. For each item you choose whether it is forwarded unopened, scanned in high resolution, or securely destroyed
- Transparent terms: no hidden fees, no months-long notice periods — you pay for the services you actually use

Ready in under 5 minutes: how it works
No forms to print, no waiting for activation — onboarding for the digital mailbox runs fully automatically via app or website:
- Pick a location: choose your preferred address from the worldwide network
- Verify your identity online: the check takes a few steps, entirely digital
- Use it immediately: register the new address with authorities, banks, in contracts, or in your imprint
From then on, your mail reaches you anywhere — book your global mailbox and manage it from any place in the world.
FAQ
Can I rent a mail address without having a residence? Yes. The virtual mailbox does not require a residence in the country — that is exactly what it is built for. You only need to pass the online identity check and grant a postal power of attorney, both done digitally during onboarding.
Does the mailbox count as a registered residential address? No. A residential registration requires an actual place of residence. The mailbox is a delivery and contact address — which is what authorities, banks, contracts, and imprints usually require.
What happens to parcels? Parcels are accepted at the location and, on request, stored or forwarded to your current address anywhere in the world.
How quickly do I see my mail? The notification arrives by push and email on the day of receipt. Requested scans are usually available as PDFs in your account the same or next business day.
Can I switch locations later? Yes. You can add new locations at any time, and cancellation works without a notice period directly in the dashboard — so you change your address without setting up a new account. Still have questions? → Contact us
